Our ongoing story

Established in 2022, Southend City Football Club is a new and vibrant addition to the football landscape in Southend, Essex. Born out of a shared passion for the beautiful game and a commitment to inclusivity, the club aims to provide opportunities for everyone, regardless of age, gender, or background, to get involved in football. The faces behind this ambitious club are Terry Rice from Rayleigh and Alice Baker from Pitsea—two lifelong football enthusiasts who have “lived and breathed” the sport from an early age.

Inspired by the success and spirit of the England Women’s Football Team, the Lionesses, Southend City FC is determined to build on that momentum by creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all. While the club proudly celebrates the rise of women’s football, its vision goes beyond just one team or one demographic. Southend City FC is committed to developing multiple teams that reflect the rich diversity of our community.

Our mission is to foster a culture of inclusivity, teamwork, and community spirit both on and off the pitch. We believe that football is for everyone, and we are here to provide a platform where every player, coach, and supporter feels valued and part of something special.
